Barack Obama is the best choice for America!!!

Kennedy Endorsements of Barack Obama

I won’t vote for Hillary because I do not want to return to divisive politics. She has also willing saddled herself with her husbands’ legacy of NAFTA, permanent most favored trade status for China, and welfare reform. They are more Republican in nature than Democrats. Hillary, who was in a position to know better, also willingly voted for the war.

The slumlord comment from Hillary bothered me a lot. The Clintons reached back as far as they could for some tiny tidbit they could distort Carl Rove style (it doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not just say a distortion enough times and the public will perceive it as being true). We don’t need anymore of that. This is just one example of many of the Clinton's using Rovian corrupt political tactics.

Clinton Booed After Slum Lord Barack Obama Attack

Obama responds to Clinton's Allegation

Always Remember Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

I have a dream

"Don't ever let anyone pull you so low as to hate them. We must use the weapon of love. We must have the compassion and understanding for those who hate us. We must realize so many people are taught to hate us that they are not totally responsible for their hate. But we stand in life at midnight; we are always on the threshold of a new dawn."

on War

"In struggling for human dignity the oppressed people of the world must not allow themselves to become bitter or indulge in hate campaigns. To retaliate with hate and bitterness would do nothing but intensify the hate in the world. Along the way of life, someone must have sense enough and morality enough to cut off the chain of hate. This can be done only by projecting the ethics of love to the center of our lives."

I remember hearing of a painting where Jesus was depicted as a junky. I never saw the painting and I don’t care to or need to because I’ve embellished on it in my mind. I picture a Christ-like figure in a urine soaked alley with empty liquor bottles and needles nearby. I consider it a holy image. Why? Because I think we should insult Christ or say He’s something He’s not? No! It reminds me that we are supposed to see the suffering Christ in the most lowly of individuals. That Jesus is served best when we show love, mercy, and caring for all those in society especially those who, for whatever reason, are most looked down on or deemed unacceptable.

Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL), Patriot

He stood on the floor of the House yesterday and spoke in support of Rep. Kucinich,s H. RES. 333 for the Impeachment of Vice President Cheney. For video of the speech and other resources along with the opportunity to participate go to…

Congressman Wexler urges support for Cheney Impeachment Hearings

.
Dennis Kucinich - Patriot!!!
.
Impeachment is a necessary exercise for our democratic republic at this time. Whether the Republicans in the Senate want to support our nation or not should bare no consequence on the House doing the right thing. It is imperative for our representatives in the People’s House to support the Constitution and its Bill of Rights.
.
To do nothing would be, by Congressional silence, an affirmation of the presidents’ position on all the wrong doing he and his administration have conspired against the laws and values of our nation. The president and the Republican congresses he possessed will go down in history as the worst ever. The Democrats will follow suit if by their inaction they go down as affirming, for future presidents, administrative branch excesses.
.
There is a long list of administration crimes against the people of the United States. If this president and his vice president have not committed crimes of high enough level to warrant impeachment is it possible for impeachment to ever be used except for an occasion of sexual misconduct?

RAW STORY did a great job with this story.

The ball got rolling, on the horror which is modern Iraq, the moment the first bombs of ‘shock and awe’ were dropped. It was a failure from the beginning. All the millions who were against this war knew these events would happen and they were ignored and called un-American traitors. They continue to be right while the administration and their neoconservative cohorts continue to be disastrously wrong.
.
Iraq is a drain on our resources, both military and financial. That is what Al Qaeda finds joy in. The Bushies played directly into their hands when the war on terror was stolen for Neocon goals in Iraq. As a consequence Al Qaeda has grown in strength, membership, and territory. This is what has left our national interests vulnerable both at home and abroad.
.
The ‘declare success then cut and run’ tactic employed by the Bush administration in Afghanistan so we could engage in their dirty little occupation in Iraq has left this area of the globe much more unstable. And were left coddling another human rights violating dictator for short term gain hoping he will do for us what we should have done ourselves. Every time we cuddle up to a dictator it comes back to bite us in the rear.

Pervez Musharraf is just the latest example of ‘our dictator in the pocket’, at least until it all falls apart. Human Rights in Pakistan are horrendous, they have weapons of ‘mass destruction’, those who would attack us are educated, harbored and trained within their borders, and bin Laden is protected there.

So we are stuck with a dictator with the Bomb, pointed at India, facing a Taliban-like insurgency that will have the Bomb, pointed at whomever, if they launch a successful coup.

.
There are many reasons for impeaching Bush/Cheney.

Sadly so many good people who still tear up over 'God Bless America' have filled their lives with so many voluntary and involuntary distractions that they've allowed themselves to become easy prey for right-wing propagandists. That's why so many of us keep begging and screaming...

Immigrants merit compassion

Another letter to the editor published on Sunday. I was going to write about the Iraq war caused problems in Afghanistan and Pakistan but there’s been a lot of anti-immigrant; everyone must embrace only English rants in the letters to the editor recently. I was just adding my voice to those who have spoken up against the rhetoric of the ones with tolerance only for those who are the same.

Immigrants merit compassion
Sunday, January 13, 2008
.
The conservative opinion regarding undocumented inhabitants is to arrest and ship them back. While there are people here illegally from many parts of the world, this is primarily a reaction to Latinos from south of our border.
.
Massive roundups of those who are unjustly judged "unacceptable" have never worked well for those being arrested or the offending country. We have recent horror stories from other nations and here with the Japanese internment and the Trail of Tears. Tearing apart Latino families would be comparatively disastrous for them but also for our national spirit, which has suffered enough through the Bush years.
.
Their poverty and status has been used against them, as it has been for other immigrant groups deemed undesirable, for the benefit of unprincipled interests, for many generations.
.
It is immoral to use people, then throw them away when they become inconvenient. Christian (isn't that the kind of country the religious right repeatedly says we have?) kindness would dictate compassion. Those who wear the Bible on their sleeve should know how to treat immigrants and all others who fall into need. The arguments rationalizing this away do not come from God but from a much darker, hotter, unholy place.

Barack Obama for America

Kucinich has freed us, by his words in Iowa, to choose another candidate with his blessings resting upon Barack Obama.
.
When you consider the differences between Obama and Edwards, taking into account the make-up of Congress they would have to deal with there’s not a lot there. They’re similar on every issue but I would give the edge to Barak on the war, foreign policy, immigration and civil rights.
.
When it comes to legislation The Congress has ideas about every issue. Clinton, Biden and Dodd will play great roles on all of these from their Senate seats.
.
Edwards voted for the war.
.
Obama has always been against the war.
.
I’m Illinois born and raised.
.
I thought about the elderly African American men and women I worked along side of when I was younger and how much Barack’s presidency would mean to all of them and how much his presidency would mean for the whole nation.

Barack Obama: Yes We Can

Iowa caucus victory speech

In the end I’ll vote for whichever one has the best chance of keeping Hillary out. It's very easy for me to be fickle over Obama and Edwards; Edwards and Obama.
.
If the nomination is decided by the time it’s our turn in Washington a vote for Dennis Kucinich would help encourage a place for his values and positions in the Democratic Party platform. It’s sad that if all the debates were held on radio he would be the front runner. He’s the winner of internet straw polls, the darling of progressives and has the right answer to most every issue. We’re now forced to choose between two ‘lesser thans’ and one more ‘lesser than’ than them. C’est la vie.
.
If Hillary wins the nomination vote for her especially when you consider how incredibly frightening and strange the Republican candidates are.
